The Effect Of Love On Art

By Emily Sigidson

Love and art are two words that cross paths at many different levels. To possess to the talent of artistry, one must be able to channel the feeling of love. This emotion can be a trigger of both positive and negative energy that are the inspiration for some of the world's most beautiful works of art.

A universal emotion will always be love. From the passion of a lover, to the tenderness of a mother, there are multiple depths and feelings related to this emotion. This is perhaps the reason why this type of art is so sought out by the art world.

It is because of this grand emotion, that many artists have found the inspiration necessary to capture and relay their feelings into some of the most famous paintings the world has known. This feeling has been celebrated throughout history through many different channels. From watercolor to street art, the expressions of love have proven timeless.

Even the artists are aware of the impact of love on their ability to create magnificent art. They use life experience as a means to express how love has impacted them in their personal lives and hope to trigger a similar feeling or memory from the viewer.

It is a beautiful incident when an artist is capable of capturing the hearts of their viewers, by channeling a fond memory or deep emotion form their viewer. This feeling is what art is made of and the main reason people seek out this kind of work.

Although there are many quotes from artists throughout history about the effects of love on their art, this particular one is ceratinly at the top of my list:

"I found I could say things with colors and shapes that I couldn't say any other way--things I had no words for." Georgia O'Keeffe
